What would want to see in a cover letter that would make you set up an interview with that person ? I' m in a discussion forum for Medical Billing/Coding course that I'm taking and the discussion forum is about cover letters and What would an Office Manager hiring for Medical Billing/Coding would inspire you to set up an interview and or hire that person. The answer that "THINK" gave is highly personal. Meaning, that just because this one hiring manager does not give a lot of credence to cover letters, I can honestly say, and I know for a fact, that the majority of them do. They want to look at the qualifications on your resume, yes, but most know that resumes are marketing tools and will paint you in the best light. The cover letter is a good way to state why you'd like to have the job and what your skill sets mean to the person reading your resume.
